Where to Swim
Sithonia is famous for some of the clearest water in Greece — and several of its best beaches start right below the apartments.

Paradisos Beach
The closest beach to House Mistral and the one most guests use daily. Sandy, family-friendly, with calm shallow water and a few beach bars in season. An easy downhill walk from the apartments.

Neos Marmaras Beach
The town beach, right along the promenade — swim, then step straight into a café or taverna. Organised with sunbeds in summer, and lovely for an evening walk when the town lights up.

Porto Carras Beach
A long, well-kept stretch of sand in front of the Porto Carras resort area, with water sports in high season. Reachable by car in a few minutes or a pleasant seaside walk.

Toroni & Tristinika
Drive south and the coast opens into long sandy bays with turquoise water. Toroni also has the ruins of an ancient fortress on its headland — bring your camera at sunset.

Kavourotripes
On the east side of Sithonia, this is the postcard beach of the peninsula: white rocks, small coves and unreal blue-green water. Come early in July and August — it gets popular for a reason.

A lively town on the west coast with a beautiful old quarter of stone houses, plus a long beachfront of cafés and shallow, warm water — great with small children.

The heart of the town: fishing boats and yachts, a seafront promenade lined with cafés, and the departure point for boat trips in season. The evening volta (stroll) here is a Greek ritual worth joining.

The local bus stop is 150 m from the house, with connections along Sithonia and towards Thessaloniki — handy if you're visiting without a car.

Parthenonas Village
A beautifully restored traditional stone village on the slopes of Mount Itamos, just above Neos Marmaras. Old houses, big views over the gulf, and a couple of tavernas — perfect for a slow lunch.

Porto Carras Winery
One of the largest vineyards in Greece spreads across the slopes next door. Wine lovers can taste local varieties grown practically within sight of your balcony.
Boat trip
Mount Athos Cruise
In season, boats sail along the Athos peninsula for a view of the monasteries rising from the sea — the closest most visitors can get to the monastic republic. Trips run from Sithonia's ports in summer; ask Manos about current schedules.

Vourvourou & Diaporos Island
On the east coast, Vourvourou bay is a maze of shallow turquoise water and pine-backed coves. Rent a small boat (no licence needed) and spend the day circling Diaporos island.

The Sithonia Coast Drive
The road around the peninsula is one of northern Greece's great drives: pine forest meeting the sea, viewpoints over hidden beaches, fishing villages. Doable in a day with plenty of swim stops.

Greece's second city is about two hours away — Byzantine walls, the White Tower, world-class food and museums. A good option for a cloudy day or on your way to and from the airport.
